RV Day 9

9 April 2015

We've only ever seen pictures of Monument Valley, but it's quite amazing to see in real life. Capturing the sheer scale of Monument Valley in a photo poses as big a challenge as capturing the colours and light of the Grand Canyon and Death Valley. Monument Valley's monolithic chocolate-red buttes and colossal, colourful mesas have starred in countless movies and TV shows and the most famous formations are visible from the highway. It was spectacular scenery from the moment we left in the morning till we stopped to rest in the evening. This is truly an awesome and amazing place. The sights and vistas here represent some of the finest landscape images of the rugged west and certainly conjure up images of old cowboy and indian television shows.
